EVE-Exchange

Privacy Policy

Last updated 7 October 2026

The short version

  • We use cookies to make the site easy to use: to keep you signed in, keep it secure, and remember your preferences.

Cookies and your browser

EVE-Exchange stores a few small things in your browser so the site works and is easier to use:

  • Signing in: a cookie that keeps you logged in, and a short-lived one while you sign in with EVE Online.
  • Security: a cookie that protects forms on the site from being submitted by other websites.
  • Your preferences: your light or dark theme, the manifest you were last working on, the trade hub you last appraised at, and the character you use for in-game buttons.
  • Your cookie choice: that you accepted cookies, so we don't ask again for a year. If you choose Not now, that's remembered until you close your browser so we don't ask on every page.

We don't use these to track you around the web or to build an advertising profile. You can clear them at any time in your browser; you'll be signed out, your preferences reset, and we'll ask about cookies again.

You can use EVE-Exchange without accepting cookies: browse the market, use the trade finder and appraise items. Signing in and remembering your settings need them, so if you try one of those we'll ask again, and nothing is saved in your browser unless you accept.

EVE-Exchange works mucch better with them so click accept!

What we keep, and why

  • Your account: your display name, and your email if you add one.
  • Your EVE characters: logging in with EVE Online tells us only who your character is (its name and ID). Nothing more is shared unless you allow it.
  • What you choose to share: if you allow it per character in account settings, we import that character's contracts, market orders, wallet, assets and skills from EVE Online, so the site can show and work with them. The authorization is stored encrypted.
  • What you save: trade finder settings, appraisals, manifests, your notes, and your preferences.

We use this only to run the site for you.

We don't sell your data

We don't sell, rent or trade your data. The only outside service that sees it is EVE Online itself, when we fetch the data you've allowed us to import.

Advertising

Pages may show ads. The ads are provided by advertisers and ad networks, who may use their own cookies or similar technology, and their use of data is covered by their own privacy policies, not this one. Please see the advertiser's policy for how they handle your information.

Analytics

EVE-Exchange keeps its own simple statistics, without cookies and without any outside service: for each page opened, which page it was, the site you came from (if any), your browser, operating system and type of device, whether you were signed in, and your approximate location (country, region and city), looked up on our own server from your IP address using DB-IP's database. Your IP address itself is never stored: it's turned into a code that can't be reversed, so we can count how often the same visitor comes back without knowing who they are. These records are kept for 13 months, then deleted.

Your choices

  • Stop sharing any kind of data for a character at any time in account settings; what was imported for it is deleted. You can also revoke EVE-Exchange in your EVE Online account's third-party applications.
  • Delete your account in account settings. Your account and everything saved with it are deleted, and EVE Online authorizations are revoked.

EVE Online

EVE-Exchange is a fan site and isn't affiliated with Fenris Creations, the makers of EVE Online. Signing in with EVE Online happens on their own pages, under EVE Online's privacy policy.

Changes

If this policy changes, we'll update it here and change the date at the top.
